During Government Shutdown, United Concordia Eases Impact on U.S. Coast Guard and NOAA TDP Members
Jan 25, 2019

HARRISBURG, Pa., Jan. 17, 2019 – U.S. Coast Guard and National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) members, who are not receiving military pay during the partial government shutdown, are getting extra support from United Concordia Companies Inc., which administers the TRICARE Dental Program (TDP).

To ease the financial impact and maintain continuity of care, United Concordia put measures in place beginning Jan. 1, 2019, to ensure that all benefits, coverage and claim payments continue uninterrupted for Coast Guard and NOAA TDP members.

During the shutdown, no TDP coverage will be cancelled due to non-payment of premiums, and no collection actions will be initiated. United Concordia also will ensure that members have ample opportunity to pay their monthly premiums after the shutdown ends.

“We understand that many members of the Coast Guard and NOAA are facing financial challenges, for reasons that are completely beyond their control,” said Daniel Wright, senior vice president, government business and finance for United Concordia. “These members provide valuable service to our country, and we appreciate the opportunity to assist them during this difficult period.”
