U.S. Department of Defense Renews TRICARE Active Duty Dental Program with United Concordia
Apr 30, 2021
New seven-year contract continues benefits administration for active duty service members

Camp Hill, Pa. (April 30, 2021) – United Concordia Companies, Inc. has been awarded a seven-year, $897 million contract by The Defense Health Agency (DHA) in the U.S. Department of Defense to continue administration of the TRICARE Active Duty Dental Program (ADDP).  The new contract will take effect on or around May 1, 2022 and provide dental benefits for 1.4 million eligible active duty service members of the Uniformed Services.

“We are pleased that DHA chose to renew the ADDP contract with United Concordia.  It will allow us to continue to provide the military with exceptional customer service and quality care through our broad network of dentists and implement innovative and industry-leading benchmark processes we’re known for,” said Tim Constantine, president and chief executive officer.

United Concordia has administered dental benefits for TRICARE programs since 1996.  Surveys and feedback have consistently demonstrated that both beneficiaries and the U.S. Government are satisfied with United Concordia’s network, services and program administration.

The ADDP business is supported by more than 200 United Concordia employees in Pennsylvania and across the country.

“As administrator of the ADDP, we are entrusted to care for active duty service members of the Uniformed Services.  It is our honor and duty to take every possible step to improve their dental health.  We are very proud to be administrators of this important contract,” said Dan Wright, United Concordia’s senior vice president of Government Programs and chief financial officer.

The ADDP, like civilian group dental plans, covers diagnostic, preventive and restorative services.  It also includes comprehensive dental specialty care coverage.  Active duty service members may find more information at www.addp-ucci.com or www.tricare.mil.
