United Concordia Dental invests in clinical quality and innovation with new dental director position
Mar 10, 2026

CAMP HILL, Pa. (March 10, 2026) — As the dental industry continues to evolve with new technologies and changing regulations, United Concordia Dental has named Candace Gama, DDS, Missoula, Mont., to dental director, Dental Clinical Review – Auditing. Her focus will be on driving the company’s continued clinical quality and regulatory compliance efforts.

In this position, Dr. Gama will oversee the accuracy, medical necessity and appropriateness of dental claims and adjudication; leading complete clinical audits and developing audit protocols for claims; and providing clinical decision support, education and training to the clinical review team. She’ll also apply her experience with dental AI platform integration as United Concordia explores its potential. Previously, Dr. Gama served as part-time clinical review auditor for the company.

“Candace brings a wealth of experience in private dental practice and the dental insurance industry — including AI platform integration and Medicaid compliance — to her new role,” said Roosevelt Allen, DDS, MAGD, ABGD, chief dental officer, United Concordia Dental. “Her expertise will ensure that we not only uphold the highest standards of quality in our claims review process across all service areas, but also strategically position ourselves for the future of dental care.”

Prior to joining United Concordia, Dr. Gama was assistant director clinical review at Guardian Life, where she helped shape dental claims review and auditing for the company’s commercial, DHMO and direct-to-consumer dental plans. She was also involved in its dental AI platform proof of concept and managing multiple aspects of the platform’s integration in clinical review.

“As we begin to determine how technologies like AI can make our processes more efficient and bring value to our members and providers, skilled human oversight will become even more critical for quality assurance. Candace’s leadership will be key in building trust through transparency and managing risks, while ensuring long-term sustainability,” said Allen.

Dr. Gama began her career as a practicing dentist, with 18 years of comprehensive clinical experience. She has published an article on and spoken about tooth replacement and restoration.

She received a DDS from Marquette University School of Dentistry and attended University of Missouri-Kansas City for undergraduate studies. Active in her community, Dr. Gama is a member of Missoula Catholic Schools Foundation Board.
