CAMP HILL, Pa. (Nov. 16, 2023) — Food banks in nine states are collectively receiving $110,000 from the United Concordia Dental Charitable Fund in an effort to help Americans who may be struggling with food insecurity.
In 2022, the U.S. Department of Agriculture reported that 17 million households across the nation were unable to acquire enough food to meet all family member needs due to insufficient money or other resources — an increase of 3.5 million households from 2021.
“More people are struggling to provide healthy and nutritious food to their families, which is such an important foundational piece of oral and overall health,” said Ed Shellard, DMD, president and CEO, United Concordia Dental. “This annual donation is just one of the ways we are committed to helping eliminate hunger and increase food access in communities we serve.”
